The HS2 Business Engagement team have recently launched their brand-new jobs site to promote the 20,000+ roles that the project will support over the coming years.
The new HS2 Jobs Board offers those looking for work or a change of career, the opportunity to search the very latest vacancies with HS2’s construction partners and station contractors delivering Phase One of the railway – this is first time that all the opportunities to work directly on HS2 will be available to search in one place.
The platform allows prospective candidates to search for vacancies by region, or by specialism, so they can quickly identify opportunities that match their criteria. Importantly, these jobs aren’t just for engineers and construction workers, they stretch from apprentice level up to senior management, covering a variety of disciplines.

Last year HS Business Engagement held a virtual HS2 Meet the Contractor Event in November. In addition to 121 meetings 24 webinars were delivered and 2,000 people joined in these sessions. The week of activity provided potential suppliers with the opportunity to understand the wider HS2 project, its core values and to hear from the Main Works and station Contractors. All the videos from these sessions are now available online, and will give businesses more insight into how they can benefit from the project. There is something in there for businesses of all types.
All 24 webinar videos can be found on YouTube.
As Europe’s largest infrastructure project, HS2 will underpin the construction and engineering sectors for the next twenty years – sectors that support nearly 10% of UK jobs and around 7% of GDP. HS2 already supports 13,000 jobs, including over 400 new apprenticeship starts and over 650 individuals who were previously unemployed. At peak construction HS2 will need 30,000 people to design and build the railway, including 2,000 apprentices.
