Born in Kenya, Harprit Pitu Suri is an entrepreneur who migrated to Britain in 1974. His parents established the Oceanic business in 1977. The HQ is located in Park Royal, with operations in Soho, Bloomsbury, Kings Cross & Ealing.
Oceanic’s activities have diversified over the years to include: student accommodation, commercial property, residential property, and B2B supply of jewellery. Pitu is involved in a City Livery company, as well as London Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) giving him an extended network that PRBG can draw upon. Pitu sits on many other committees & organisations – which include: –
– Bridge India
– LCCI Member of Council and ABA – business committee
– Ealing Business Club
– Ealing Conservative Association
– The World Traders Livery Co.
– HHERA residents association
– City Sikhs (retired recently)
As we look forward to the business year ahead, Pitu feels that PRBG, along with all other membership organisations representing wider business needs to focus on Trade, first and foremost.
Looking to the future, Pitu says – “These are exciting and challenging times. We are now in the 4th industrial revolution as a nation. Britain is now a third country in 2020. And, most importantly, AI will transform how we work.”
In 2019 he has embarked on further study, leading to a Masters, over the next five years. This will allow him to evolve in the ‘4th Industrial revolution’.
Park Royal is the UK’s largest Industrial estate, with some 2000 businesses. As chair of PRBG, our voice of Park Royal business, he will endeavour to assist progress on key policy issues: transport, power supply, broadband, transport and security.
While many membership organisations nationwide are facing challenges, PRBG is well positioned to buck these trends. Park Royal continues to experience a fast pace and rate of change in every sector. Keeping this in mind, Pitu wants to help maintain focus and adaptability in the estate’s development, allowing the business community and PRBG to grow successfully.
