If you are looking to do something different from a traditional recruitment presentation, then you may be interested in some of the additional ways you can get involved with meeting our students.
Getting Into… Lunchtime Careers Talks – During the autumn and spring terms we run a series of sector/skills talks during the lunch break. “Getting Into …” talks allow students to find out more about ways of getting into a particular industry, typical working days and offer students the chance to ask questions and gain advice. These talks are designed to give students a broader picture of different careers to help them make decisions about their future. Thus, they differ from the standard company recruitment presentations. Employer Led Skills Workshops – Also during the autumn & spring terms, we organise a schedule of 2-hour skills workshops/business games. With the workshop itself we can be very flexible with what you want to put on, but generally look for one of two things:
- A workshop on part of the recruitment process (e.g. interviews, group work tasks etc) or,
- A session that relates to the work environment at your company (e.g. a client case study, something technical etc)
These are very interactive with a limited attendance of 40 students. For further details and booking information, please see here.
Speed Networking Events – Organised by individual departments and the Careers Service, Speed Networking Events allow employers to have short, informal chats with students from relevant disciplines over the course of an evening. Upcoming events in the spring term include Life Sciences Speed Networking and Postgraduate Medicine (research). For more information about these events please contact vmsood@imperial.ac.uk
