Get involved and find out more about changes to OPDC’S Local Plan
OPDC has made proposed changes to our draft Local Plan and they will be holding online engagement events in November to provide an update, explain our plans and hear your views.
The Local Plan will provide a planning framework for OPDC to deliver their plans for regeneration. It will also reinforce our commitment to seeing a high quality, mixed-use and vibrant urban district in and around the Old Oak Common HS2 station, as well as an intensification of the employment area in Old Oak North.

Statement of Community Involvement
The consultation for their updated Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) is now closed. OPDC has updated their SCI to reflect new ways of engaging remotely as a result of Covid-19, to ensure that the public continues to be informed and involved in planning decisions and policy across the OPDC area. Thank you to those who took time to comment. OPDC will be reporting feedback from the consultation to our planning committee and Board members ahead of adoption.
Harlesden Neighbourhood Forum re-designation application
The Harlesden Neighbourhood Forum has submitted its application to OPDC and Brent Council to enable it to continue its status as a neighbourhood planning forum. This process takes place every five years and is a requirement of national legislation. After the application is submitted, it will be made available for public consultation. You can use OPDC’s planning register to find information and comment on a current planning application in the Old Oak and Park Royal area or to search for determined applications.
In the Making
Willesden Junction Station public space improvements – join OPDC’s engagement webinar.
Last year OPDC asked the local community to help them plan public space improvements around Willesden Junction Station.
Building on this feedback, OPDC are holding an online public event to unveil the detailed designs and ask for input on the final touches before we start making the improvements at the station next year.

Harlesden Canalside, In the Making
Conversations with communities and businesses are well underway and scoping work has begun to regenerate a part of Harlesden Canalside into a community, work and leisure space. You can still be involved, contact OPDC’s community space operator, 3Space, to register interest or visit the dedicated website for more information.
Recruitment for a local person to join the project team and support the project’s engagement activities has now closed. There were some fantastic applications and the shortlisting and interview process has now begun. Stay tuned!

Towpath access consultation
A big thank you to all those who completed the survey regarding the proposals for improvements to the Old Oak Lane Towpath access – your comments have been a critical and valued part of the design process. There is still the opportunity to comment on the submitted application, which you can find on the planning register here (planning application no. 20/0115/FULOPDC).

Park Royal:
The Employment & Skills Hub is now open
OPDC have now launched their new Skills & Employment Hub. The hub will help support West London businesses to recruit, retain and develop a local, skilled workforce, and help local people gain new skills. They will also be able to access employment opportunities created by local businesses and OPDC’s and HS2’s infrastructure and development projects.
